These Boots Are NOT Made For Walkin'..................

My legs hurt today.

I mean really hurt!

Remember THESE....

Well, yesterday I spent the day with

A princess, an elephant and a movie star

(Yeh, I know, the elephant doesn't look too happy.)

 Anyway....

We took a long walk and did some puddle jumping

Then we made our own pizzas and cookies for lunch.

These boots are NOT
*Made for Walkin'*

But we had a great time!!

I love you three!

LOVE,

Miss Angelove and

The Duggar Family

I am assuming you know who they are by now. The family from Arkansas blessed with 19 children. But you may NOT know a few other facts about them.

  • They are educated people. Jim Bob served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1999-2002.
  • Their income is derived from the commercial properties they own.
  • They live debt-free. And that was BEFORE the TLC show.
  • They built their house by hand.
  • Their children have better manners than most children I encounter in my daily life.
  • There is more love in their home than most I see.
  • They love Jesus and try to raise their children in a way that would please Him.

Did you watch their special last night on TLC? If you didn't, you should watch the rerun. That family is precious. I hear there are *Duggar Haters*. WHAT? HOW can you not like that family? I am serious. You may not agree with their long dresses or their long hair or their way of living. But in a world where we have such a messed up view of family, I think it is refreshing to see a family with such love and respect for each other. Some may not agree with the number of children they have or   with the fact that the older children help take care of the younger children. However, I think that happens in MOST families. If a family has a 14 year old and a two year old, it is natural that the older one would help out with the younger one. It's what families do. It's part of what makes you a family. I wonder if part of the negative views of this family is jealousy? To be honest, I am a little jealous of what they have. I love their sense of family. I love the respect they have for one another. I love how they love Jesus. I love that they do not apologize for the way they live. I do not personally love their fashion sense, but they wouldn't love mine either.

If you haven't seen this family. Give them a chance.
They are refreshing.

Snowy Weekend, A Queen and New Boots!

Well, we DID get our snow here in North Carolina. I think the final word was eight inches. Pretty impressive for us. We are paralyzed for days when that happens....and we live in the city! The snow plows have been out in full force but even the main roads are still covered.

Hubby had to take gas to someone who was crazy enough to let it run out. I took a little ride with him. I felt like a QUEEN on her throne sitting up so high in that gas truck. Glamorous, NOT...but it doesn't take much to please me. I just wanted to get out of the house. THIS is what the main road looked like from high up on my throne.

I realized I was NOT cut out for work in the snow.
I wore my tennis shoes.
So, hubs took me to Targ*t  to get me these:

What's a Queen on her throne without cute boots?

The weather men are calling for snow in N.C. for this weekend.

So, on the radio this morning they were talking about snow cream.

Love it! Love it!

But....I did NOT know this:

Not everyone knows about snow cream!!

WHAT?

Is it a *southern* thing?

Help me out people.

Have YOU had snow cream or at least HEARD of it?

You know, fill a huge bowl with fresh snow.

Mix in milk, sugar and vanilla flavoring.

Stir.

Enjoy.

Come on. Tell me you've heard of it.

Tell me you've had it.

I must have my head in the sand snow!!!

Sometimes It's The Little Things

Do you know what this is?

Yeh, it's a spring for a garage door.

It broke a couple of months ago.

It was our busy season at work and then Christmas came.

And went.

I tried really hard not to whine.

I mean, the people in Haiti wish they had my garage to sleep in.

But yesterday I went home to a surprise.

Hubby had someone come fix it.

Without me whining or nagging.

It's the little things.

Evidence They Were Here.................

We played and we rocked and we rode the Barbie Jeep and
Poppy's Golf Cart.
We ate cupcakes and Princess Gummies.

We used the baby swing AND the big girl swing.
We drew with chalk and went to QDoba.

We put REAL pasta in the play kitchen
and REAL water in the horses trough.

We snuggled and we changed diapers.

We couldn't ask for a better Saturday.

I CAN SEE!!!

I've never worn glasses or contacts. But, I'm 52 and my eyes couldn't read the phone book or the cake mix box. I had started wearing those magnifying glasses from The Dollar Store. They worked great but I got SOOOO tired of taking them on and off! I had a pair in every room. I had them in my car. I had them on my desk at work. "I do not like them Sam I Am!!!

So, I took the plunge. I visited the eye doctor and got contacts for old  people my far/near vision. My right eye has a contact for far away vision. My left eye has a contact for things up close.

The first morning I had them it took me 40 minutes to put them in.

NO KIDDING!

I was sweating and irritated. I've had them two weeks now and I'm an old pro!

Love them! Love them!

Haiti

I wonder if the Haitian people know that Jesus loves them?

I want them to know.

I am so very grateful to the people who have dedicated their lives to making sure the people in Haiti KNOW they are loved.

Please pray for Haiti and her people.

We cannot even begin to imagine the hurt and heartbreak.

The complete devastation.

The hopelessness and helplessness.

WE know there is hope for them.

I pray they know it.

Pray for the Haitian people.

Please.
