A Different Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was DIFFERENT this year.

Wonderful.

But Different.

Everyone was *scattered* this year.

And I don't love that.

So, today, we celebrate.

We eat and give thanks.

Some of us will be together.

We are healthy.

We love each other.

We have a new baby.

And we know that in 2010

our faithful prayers will be answered.

And for that

TODAY

We will give thanks.

Brand new baby girl!

More tomorrow. Tonight I am tired. I am blessed. And I am so

Very Thankful.

Welcome our precious 8 lb granddaughter.

This was her sister two years ago.
Uncanny how much they look alike.

Thankful this Thanksgiving for this

And so much more.

Thank God For Teachers

My daughter-in-law, K, recently took the National Boards.
(for professional teaching standards)

She waited for months to get her score.

Friday was the day.

She passed!

With flying colors.

If you are a mom

or a Nonny

You should thank God for teachers like her.

They represent only 2% of our teachers.

Nationwide.

I am proud of her.

You should be too.

She is making a difference.

We Love You K.

Blessed

If you are reading this blog

You Are Blessed.

My friend, Joy,recently did a post on how blessed we are.

She gave me an idea.

She reminded me how very blessed I am.

Joy said her Sunday School Class made up gallon ziplock bags of *goodies* to give out at stoplights to those who are holding homeless signs. (Often I am too quick to judge their reason for begging. I have decided it is not up to ME to make that determination. I am giving in good faith.) In those baggies they put canned fruit, crackers, bottled water, etc. and handed them out when they saw the need. My friend, Renee', and I decided we would follow Joy's lead. We got some gallon ziplock bags. Inside we put beanie weanies, canned fruit, crackers, peanuts, a drink and a plastic spoon. We were SO excited that we will have the opportunity to make a difference.

In my car, I now have four bags of goodies.

I am Blessed.

Try to do something to make a difference.

In the meantime, you will be blessed.

I Wonder If These Two Know How Much We Love Them?

Sometimes we fail to let people know how much they mean to us. These two (youngest son and daughter-in-law) do SO much for us. They live close by and that makes them available to do things our other kids can't do because of distance. We are so grateful that they love us and would do anything in the world we need. (Whether that's mowing the yard, or bringing us yummy desserts.)

I don't want to ever take for granted the love they show us.

And besides, I did a post for the other two kids for their anniversaries.

I forgot these two.

So, YES

This is a make-up post.

I wonder if they will forgive me?

Has It Been THREE Years?

Yesterday I asked the hubby

"Do you know what we were doing t
hree years ago today?"

(Like he could forget)

He said "Loading up a truck with dried and fresh flowers".

:)
We knew then that it was a GOOD thing.

Happy Three years A and G.

We love you dearly.

My Dear Friends

My dear friends, Bill and Beverly.

Bill lost his mom last night.

Suddenly.

Bill's mom knew Jesus.

They know she is in His arms.

But they are sad.

And they miss her.

Please pray for my friends.

They are so very dear to me.

Cousins Having Cousins

These two cousins
(my daughter, G and my niece, J)
are about to give birth to cousins.
How fun!

We celebrated them today with a family baby show
er.
Amazing how the circle of life continues.
May God bless these two
and THEIR two newest blessings.

This Is What LOVE Looks Like

Just like this picture

It doesn't

ALWAYS

look like this.

But TODAY it does.

And that is a good thing.

Our sweet neighbor died yesterday.

He was 89.

They had been married over SIXTY years.

As I passed their house early this morning,

I prayed for her.

I cannot imagine how lonely she must feel today.

For her, today, love looks a little different.

For me, today, THIS is what love looks like.

And I am grateful.

Ice Cube Trays and Creme Rinse

I gUesS
I'm telling my age here. But, is there anyone out there who does NOT know what these ar
e?
Especially the metal ones?!!

A few years ago I showed one of
these to my
ten year old niece.

This was her guess as to what it was:

"Ummm, one of those trays you put beads in at the *make-a-bead necklace* store?"

Ummm....NO!

And, what about THIS:

I asked my daughter years ago if she had ever heard of
CREME RINSE.

"Something you wash dishes with?"

Oh dear, I am showing my age.

How about you?

Do you or your kids know ice trays or creme rinse?

Please.
Just say Yes.

It makes me wonder, what will THEIR kids not know???
