Don't you love the things you learn from blog friends? A few months back I saw a tutorial on one of my very favorite blogs:Fly Through My Window. (When you visit her blog, look at the column on the right side. This tutorial is listed under *labels: step by step*). Darby has lots of great tutorials, but this one was showing how she made labels for her gifts. I was hooked! So, I decided to make my own. After a few tries, I realized it wasn't that difficult. I wasn't sure what Darby used to cut out her labels, but I tried using scissors and I couldn't get them to look good. So, I went to Michael's Crafts and bought a 3" circle cutter....PERFECT!!!
A friend's daughter is getting married in May. I am attending a shower for her this weekend. This sweet girl loves to cook. She loves experimenting with new foods and recipes. We have an Amish country store about 30 minutes from here, so.............I made the trip, bought the spices, my daughter-in-law and I made the labels, and, well, take a look. Let me know what you think. Darby is a genius! (click on pictures to see a better view of the labels).
The labels are also great for a gift wrapped package, on canning jars or to seal an envelope!!
My brother, F, and I are 13 months apart...he's younger.:( Today is his birthday! Just wanted to do a shout out and wish him a happy day! Hope you get to spend lots of time on the boat today. Remember, every year is a blessing. I love you brother.
OK, so, we were in an Italian Restaurant tonight....EATING dinner. Did I mention we were EATING??? And this man blew his nose. Right there at the table. And I mean LOUD. Honkin loud!!! Tell me people, did he not get the memo? Did his mom not tell him when he was growing up that you DO NOT blow your nose in a restaurant? DISGUSTING. I asked my husband what he thought, and he tells me that his dad blows his nose in a restaurant. He's in my family. UGH!! He's 83...I think he gets a free pass...but it's still disgusting that some people didn't get the memo. Is it just ME?????????????????????
.............and we are having E.C. withdrawals. It was really hard for us to leave this time. She is 17 months and we feel like she really *knows* us now. Her little personality is precious! We kept her while her mom and dad went away on a little mini vacation for 24 hours. She was an angel and we loved our time with her. Nonny and Poppy sure do love you E.C....and we'd give you the moon if we could. See you in a few weeks. We'll get you another big sugar cookie and let you ride in the car at the grocery store....and anything else you want...............
