SIX YEARS

These "little old men" have grown!

Gosh boys, can you slow down already? I'm so proud of both of you. I love how you both know more Bible stories than I do and that you both have a heart for Jesus. But there are some differences too  and I always love celebrating what makes each of you unique.

Tate: 

You are extremely sensitive.

Your feelings run deep. You sympathize big and your anger is big!

You are very athletic. (You got that from Nonny. Not.)

You are super competitive with your brother and it's a constant battle. 

(You remind us all the time that Crews is the oldest, but you are the biggest.) 

You make me so proud to be your Nonny.

You are the most happy go lucky little boy ever!

Everything is funny to you and your toothless smile lights up a room!

You are scrappy and quick and can hold your own with the big kids around!

You run and jump into my arms every time I see you, and I adore that about you!

Happy 6th Birthday boys!

Twins. China Baby. Chimpanzees.

So, I was a dreamer growing up. Not so much now. I had deep desires and occasionally would question God about His answers.....or lack thereof. 


One of my deepest desires was to have twins. Multiple births have always fascinated me. When I was pregnant with my daughter, one of my dear, dear friends (hello Lesa Elder) was pregnant too....with twins! I was so happy for her! But, deep down the longing was still there. My daughter was born and she was all I ever wanted in a baby girl! I never had twins. God had a bigger and better plan. Far greater than I could have ever dared to dream! Fast forward many years to these two sets of twin grands:

I also dreamed of adopting from China. I had all three of my children by age 24. (I know, right?!) After about ten years, when I was only 34, I really longed for that baby in China. For many reasons, God shut that door! But now it's wide open because Grand #10 is over there somewhere just waiting for them to come get her/him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:

Now, let's pray my childhood desire for a dressed-up Chimpanzee never becomes a reality!

Joy Unspeakable

Three years ago a couple of miracles joined our family. They were born a couple of months early and were SO tiny. But their fight was incredible and we knew from the very beginning that they were special boys.

Today these baby boys turned three. We celebrated them with friends and family and Daniel Tiger and his friends too!

THREE things they love:

Milk.
Outside.
David and "Gowiaf".

We feel so blessed as Nonny and Poppy tonight. The joy we have for these twins truly is unspeakable. I am reminded of the words to one of my favorite choruses.

     The half has NOT been told boys. We can't wait to see how your lives unfold. You are going to do great things for the kingdom!

It's Almost May

It's almost May people! How is that? April has come and gone and I feel like this month was a blur! It was a full month and I think that makes it go by even faster!

We celebrated our DIL this month with a very small baby shower. She is having baby boy # 3 in about four weeks! Hard to believe the time is almost here! The big brothers don't have a clue what is about to rock their world!

One of the *big boy twins* had a small growth removed from his tongue this month. He was a real trooper and looked adorable in his hospital gown! :) After a few hours at the hospital and a couple of popsicles....all was right in his world!

I went on my yearly trip with my Beach Buddies! I so look forward to this trip every year! The five of us have done this trip together for years and years! We pretty much eat and talk and rest for four days. I dieted up until the day of the trip and got to within 1/2 pound of my goal! Course, I gained 2.5 while I was gone. Amazing how quickly I can put it on!! It takes way longer to get that weight back off! It was worth every bite though and I'll do it again next year!! Thank you friends for good times and great memories!

Hubs drove to the beach that last morning to pick me up. We had an important birthday party to attend!

The twinsx2 had their first birthday party! They are growing up before our eyes and are the sweetest things ever! Brother has been walking for a few months but sister just won't let go yet...she'd rather be held!!

What a gorgeous, fun day with these special one year old twins!!

Easter was squeezed in between all these events with live chicks and ducks who survived all the holding and squeezing that all our little ones dished out! We were reminded once again of HIS faithfulness to us and how very blessed we are. We do indeed serve a risen Savior!

I didn't mean to take a blogging break!

It's not like I haven't had anything going on….

I truly haven't had the time or energy to post.

Well, I haven't TAKEN the time to post.

The big boy twins turned two and celebrated with a

 Tractor Party!

They had such a great party with lots of friends and family!

The next weekend the big girl grands had a 

Princess Party!

They are turning four and six.

The next day we had a baby shower for my daughter, G.

Grand #8 is due this month and we can't WAIT!

These two TWO YEAR OLDS are a joy.

They are a ball of energy and full of life!

There are so many things I love about them.

I love how as soon as they hear an ambulance 
they clasp their little hands together and say *Dear Jesus.*

I love how they love everyone and their smiles light up a room.

i love how they look for each other when they realize
brother is not close by.

I love how they think their reflection in the mirror
is the other twin.

These boys are adored!

SIX!!

On the 27th our oldest granddaughter turns SIX!!!

She started kindergarten this year!

Our family has grown by leaps and bounds since she was born.....

But, we will never forget how special that first baby girl was!

12 hours old!

I love how happy she was even early on!

.....and how much she loves her sister!

And, I love how she loves playing dolls and dress up!!

This girl has a heart of gold

and an innocence about her that I love!
