Suggestions???????????

No big deal here....just need a little suggestion.

I have one of the tall, glass apothecary jars in my kitchen.
I love to keep it filled with *seasonal* things.

Usually candy, since that's the easiest.
Most months are easy....candy corn at Halloween, etc.

Then comes May. And June.
???????????

Any suggestions??
Here is Easter 2010.....

Suggestions?????

May and June are kind of tough for decorating, aren't they? What about some mini flags for Memorial Day, Flag Day, and the 4th?

Sand! With some shells mixed in? Clean sand (as in buy it, sift it) since you probably consume the candy you put in there!
Or colorful, fabric, flower leis...Walmart had some for $1.
Salt water taffy.
Ice cream cones!
Ok, that's all I can think of for now! Good luck!!

Sand! Maybe with some fun shells mixed in? But clean sand...as in buy it and maybe sift it since you probably eat the candy from the jar!
Or colorful, fabric, flower leis! Walmart had some for $1.
Or saltwater taffy!!
Or ice cream cones!
Or fake, colorful, gerber daisy without the stems!
Ok, that's all I can think of! Good luck!!!

I would do red, white and blue jelly bellies (jelly beans) for June or July. Fun idea!

My friend has lemons and limes. I think they are plastic but they sure do look real. I like all the suggestions you received. Can't wait to see what you choose.

For summer I like the idea of sand and seashells! Something red, white and blue would be cute for July. I always look for cute, inexpensive items at the Dollar Store. Love & blessings from NC!

What did you come up with? To go along with the birdnest theme from your most recent post you could put that moss you buy in bags half way up the jar and then an artificial birdnest with eggs!! I bought some nests at Michaels for my spring/summer mantle.

As far as candy goes.... lemon drops would be seasonal.
