How Wonderful Is This????

I have a birthday coming up in a few weeks.

One of my DIL's asked me what I wanted.

Hmmmm.....that's always a hard one.

But, I really wanted a laptop sleeve, so that's what I told her.

I mentioned I had seen some at Bed Bath and Be*ond.....

Umm, yeh.

She MADE me one.

As in sewed it.

And it is FABULOUS!

Sweet Time

We had a sweet time celebrating birthdays this weekend!

Our youngest grand and his mommy and daddy couldn't make it so they sent us this:

He's serious about missing the birthday party!  :)

Today my man is 57.

He's the better part of me. Really. He's honorable. And real. He procrastinates, but when he gets it done, it's done right. He is honest and funny. He gets things right...a lot (just ask him):)!! He loves me. He is better to me than I am to myself. He loves Jesus. And old people. And his pets...when he had pets. He has compassion for the elderly...and the needy. He loves our children well. And adores our grandchildren. He would drop everything for any of them... at any time. He loves golf. And cycling. And chocolate. He has big dreams. For Us. He wants ME to be happy. He spends a lot of time making that happen. He loves television. And movies. And all kinds of music. He can cook gourmet meals that are so good it has made me not even want to eat out! He has a feminine side that allows him to understand me. That's cool. He wants people to succeed. He is tender. And loud. And if he is your friend, you can count on him. At any time.  

I am so grateful that in this 57th year of his life, I have spent 36 of them with him. 

I cannot imagine my life without him.

Happy Birthday Hubs.

I pray that on this day you know without a doubt how much I love you.

Oh The Things I Wish I Could Do!

Copy Cat! Copy Cat! That's ME!

(though she REALLY DID ask us to!)

Here are some of the things I WISH I could do.

~ Speak another language. Spanish in particular. My son-in-law is fluent. So are his parents. I wish I could converse with him and others in Spanish.

   I've tried a mini class. I'm too old to learn.:)

~ Live in the same city as my grandchildren. Very envious of those who do.


~ Smock....boy that would save me some $$$$$$$!


~ Draw. I'm like Courtney.  I can't draw a straight line with a ruler!


~ Travel. Lots. And take my family with me.

Oh well, one can dream!!

Mom turns 74 today.

I am so blessed and so thankful to still have my mom.

We celebrated with family, cake and gifts.

I pray she knows how loved she is.

And how blessed we are to call her Mom and Nanny.

You are the better half of me.

We've danced in some mine fields.

It was harder than we dreamed

and I'm so thankful you were God's plan in my life.

His BANNER Over Me Is Love

  My DIL and I made banners. I got the inspiration from this card (laying on my felt above)

Cute. Simple. Fun.

BEST Banana Bread. Period.

I guess everyone thinks they have the best recipes for things.

That's why we use the ones we use.

But I challenge you to find a better banana bread recipe than this!

It makes two loaves of the BEST I have ever had.

I have made this recipe for years and made two loaves last night.

It will not disappoint.

(Don't be discouraged by the # of ingredients. Most of them you probably have on hand.)

1 1/2 cups oil
2 1/2 cups sugar
3 beaten eggs
1 TBSP vanilla
1/2 cup buttermilk
3 (RIPE) bananas mashed


3 cups plain flour
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 cup nuts
1 cup coconut


Mix first six ingredients. Add in dry ingredients. Pour into two, greased loaf pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 min.
You will not be disappointed.
Promise.

....two loaves ready to go this morning!

All Three Littles Are Sick

Please pray for my grandchildren.

B is nine weeks old. He has RSV.

A is 14 months. She has a sinus infection, cough and fever.

E.C. is three. She has the flu and double ear infection.

Pray for their mommies and daddies too.

It's tough when your children are sick. 

Sick children+ no sleep=tired parents.

Nonny and Poppy are praying for you sweet babies.

Lovin' My New Kicks!

Needed some new kicks.

Saw these on Opr*h's Favorite Things show.

They are designed to mimic barefoot running and are light as a feather.

I LOVE them!

(I don't RUN...but they are great for walking and other exercises!)
