I guess everyone thinks they have the best recipes for things.
That's why we use the ones we use.
But I challenge you to find a better banana bread recipe than this!
It makes two loaves of the BEST I have ever had.
I have made this recipe for years and made two loaves last night.
It will not disappoint.
(Don't be discouraged by the # of ingredients. Most of them you probably have on hand.)
1 1/2 cups oil
2 1/2 cups sugar
3 beaten eggs
1 TBSP vanilla
1/2 cup buttermilk
3 (RIPE) bananas mashed
3 cups plain flour
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 cup nuts
1 cup coconut
Mix first six ingredients. Add in dry ingredients. Pour into two, greased loaf pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 min.
You will not be disappointed.
Promise.

I've never made banana bread but love it and wanted to make it. Thanks for sharing your recipe! I have everything except for the nuts & coconut. I think I might go to the store in the morning and get them and make some! Thanks!
Gosh, I haven't made banana bread in years. Years. Love it, but never think to make it. Never think I've had it with coconut in it but it sure sounds good. I'm copying the recipe to try some time soon.
Have a good weekend.
Hugs,
Kat

PS-I will defninitely be trying that banana bread recipe. :)
Yum-o! Can't wait to try it. Perfect time while we are snowed-in in Arkansas!
Banana Bread is a "staple" in our house! I always have several loaves frozen in the freezer so I can pull one out whenever we need a little "treat". I will definitely give your recipe a try the next time I make some. Thanks for sharing! The coconut sounds like a nice addition!
