I work every day at my husband's office. I got in the real bad habit of eating lunch out a lot. There just aren't a lot of healthy options. I have tried to make a conscious effort to eat a healthier lunch. It's a challenge. Some days the food is just so blah! It is a mental thing for me. So, I try to make it at least LOOK attractive. I love the *bento* boxes that are so popular. I had an old one in my cabinet so I have been using it. It's amazing the difference it makes when you make your food look more attractive. On this day, I had some pieces of grilled chicken with peppers and onions(left over from dinner the night before), spinach, tomatoes and feta cheese. I brought a whole wheat pita pocket and stuffed it full!! My dessert was kiwi and strawberries. The cloth napkin helps make it look a little more appetizing too! The next day I had tuna mixed with avocado....YUM! That's it. Just tuna and mashed avocado. Try it!!
Do YOU have any great lunch ideas?

Well, I'll let you fix my lunch any ole time! You're so right, though. The eyes eat the food before the mouth does!
I'm the same way Angela...I'd rather go out because it's easy but not always as tasty when you are watching the calories.
I did find a new low cal lunch that I like from Weight Watchers...it's kind of burrito wrap with black beans.
Take one whole wheat tortilla, fill with 1/4 c. black beans, 1/4 c. salsa, 1/4 c. cheese and microwave 30 seconds until hot and cheese is melted. It's good and filling.
Have a good weekend! Connie
How about hot dogs? And cupcakes, that's healthy right?
I eat out WAY too often too, but when I'm home I love to have salads. There are so many ways to make a salad look and taste different.
I always start off with romaine and spring green mix and then add toppings, including my favorties: feta cheese, walnuts or pecans, mandarin organges or strawberries or grapes and I love Ken's Greek dressing.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs,
Kat
i love making a big pasta salad and eating off of it all week. It's a good bit of prep time cutting up everything, but lots of good stuff. And then I already know what I'm having for a few days, that's the hardest part for me.
Pasta Salad:
Rotini Pasta
All Cut up into bite sizes:
Cucumber
Carrots
Colby Jack Cheese
Green Bell Pepper
Broccoli
Califlower
Then drench it all in Zesty Italian dressing. Best if marinates over night.
