Let's talk about rude for a minute.
Ok...here is how it went.
I was in line at the grocery store.
With ONE item in my hand.
One.
The man behind me had like a month's worth of groceries in his cart.
You know what happens next.
A cashier opened in the lane next to us.
This man whipped his huge cart of groceries right over in the new lane.
Now tell me.
Don't you think that is just.plain.rude.?
What are people thinking?
I tried to think of something tactful to say.
I Couldn't.
UGH!!
Shopping Cart Rage!
Just. Plain. Rude.

I agree with you, that was rude. He should have kindly offered for you to go ahead of him. I am also just about fed up with people who blatantly pull out in front of you while driving and then you have to slam on brakes. Is my car invisible, or what? We live in such a me, me, me society anymore that people are only interested in themselves and how fast they can get something done or get somewhere first!!! It is so sad. I hope you have a better day today. Love & blessings from NC!
I so agree with Melinda. We live in such a me, me, me society. Rude is the word of the day most times.
Yep! That was uncalled for. I always try to let people with just a few items go before me and I always let cars go ahead of me who are trying to get into the lane of traffic...I'm no saint, but I figure if I show the example maybe they will "pay it forward"...Such a selfish world we live in:(
My goodness. People just don't think!
Angela, I added one more picture of my "Little's" feet pictures to my blog...it's the one of them on my wall. Take a look. I can't wait to see the pictures of your "Littles" precious tootsies!!
Yes, that was bad! I like to let someone ahead of me because they are just so grateful....makes me feel good!
Don't get me started on rude people! I wonder if they were never taught manners or just choose not to use them!
I like when the clerk opening the line actually picks out someone with a few items to go first.
I say shame on the cashiers who don't say "i can take the next in line over here"! Then you will have something tactful to say if the rudeness still prevails.
Oblivion really gets me. I would like to just visit there to see what it's like.
He was rude..........I would let someone go if they have afew items and I have a basket full of items.
My favorite is, they speed up so you cannot try to get in the lane.....urgh, I find that RUDE too
People these days are getting ruder and ruder!!!
Rude but I see it all the time....UGH
That was rude
usually the cashier walks over and gets the one that is next in line... I guess we just need to try harder to be nice to make up for those rudies (o:
Rude...it happens...a chance...for us to be Christ like I guess...what else can one do?! Guess his mama never taught him any manners! Come say hi :D
very inconsiderate. one of my pet peeves at the grocery is when people go through the line that is intended for 20 items or less and they have a cart full of groceries. this happened to me at wal-mart so i complained to the cashier. she told me they have to check those people out. so when i got home i called to speak with a manager.....i know i'm coming he across as being rude myself, but i've found the older i get i'm voicing my opinions more and i felt it was unfair. anyway, the manager also told me the same thing that if someone goes through they have to check them out because it's all about customer service! really!? what about the person that really does have 20 or less items?
ok, sorry for such a long comment. i got sidetracked.....
I have had similar happenings at the grocery store and on the road, and it sure can spoil a good moment. I felt it all as you shared. So sorry!
I totally agree! I cringe when that happens because it's just not right. I mean, I always let the person behind me go first if they have less items (or small children) because let's face it, that's how it should work! I'm more of the "if you have less items, you may go ahead of me" but I'm also the "I should be next but you're closer to the new register and you probably won't let me go first and that just makes me sad" group.
Oh well! I guess we are just blessed to be able to shop.
RUDE! I agree with one of your other commenters....I think the clerk should have welcomed the next in line and looked right at you. Unfortunately, most clerks don't care enough about it to say something like that. Usually takes someone more seasoned at their job to look out for a single item shopper like you!
Hope you gave him the stink eye! He deserved much worse, but probably wouldn't have noticed anyways!
