Life

Hubs got a new bike today.

Apparently it's a big deal.

He's like a kid at Christmas.

Training has started for THIS!

My niece is having her baby next week...scheduled c section on May 31st.

It's her first. She chose not to find out if it's a boy or a girl, and hasn't told the names yet either.

We are all so excited and praying for this child who is already loved so much!

Missing these grand girls.

Their other grandparents are in the states visiting for a few weeks.

Trying to share nicely. :)

Be back soon with new baby pics and mom's retirement!!

Twins Baby Dedication

Mother's Day was baby dedication day for the twins. It was such a special day. We joined together as a family at church and made a promise, as their family, to always pray for them and always point them to Jesus. Poppy and I pray these boys will always see Jesus in us and that when we fail, they know He still loves us. We pray they know His grace in a very real way.  Thank you Lord for the special blessing of these twins. Thank you for family that loves them and prays for them. Thank you for making two sets of grandparents very, very proud.

....and some great-grandparents too:
It was a long, long day for these boys

By the way, their mommy MADE their outfits!!!!!!!!

Thank you Jesus for these boys and the family that came to support them.

My Mom

My mom is 75. I am amazed at how youthful she is. Not just how youthful she LOOKS...(though she looks great), but, how youthful her mind and her spirit is. She can *hang with the best of us* and she texts like a 16 year old. She has directed a preschool for over 30 years and can decorate a house like *nobody's business*. She is always dressed as *neat as a pin* and is NEVER and I mean NEVER late to anything. She returns all her texts and phone calls, (even though some of US aren't that great about doing so :) ) and never forgets a birthday in the family. She loves Jesus and my daddy and all of us *more than life itself*. I am proud that she is my mother and so very thankful that I still have her here to love.

Happy Mother's Day Mom!

Waking Up With The Twins

About a month ago, I was at their home when they woke up.

Excuse the *sing-song* Nonny voice.

The little poem is one I woke my children up with when they were growing up.

(if you hit you tube in bottom right corner, you can view it better.)

Is that not the sweetest thing ever?

Friday Night

Nonny and Poppy kept the twins Friday night for our youngest son and his wife to go on a date.

A blurry picture of daddy telling his twins goodbye.

The boys having a little play time.

" Hey, I want THAT toy!"

Nonny is Funny!

I was telling them what their mommy just did!

Listen baby boys:

"When I walked in the door, mommy was drying her hair. She was all ready for her date and daddy was literally standing in the den waiting on her to walk out the door. She came into the den with her duster and in 30 seconds, ran around like a mad woman dusting every piece of furniture in the room. We laughed at her but she said she thought Nonny would do it if she didn't.
I don't know why she thought that. Do you boys?"

Oh, hey boys:
"Do you see the pile of laundry she left for us? Including crib sheets to be put on????????????
I don't know WHY she was so worried I would dust........."

:)

Nonny sure does love your mommy!

The Important Things

I read this on Facebo*k. Not sure who wrote it, but I loved it!

The Mayonnaise Jar and Two Cups of Coffee

When things in your lives seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things--your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions--and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.

The sand is everything else--the small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

"Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first--the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."
