He is One Month!

Has it been a month already?

This precious miracle

The first born of my son and his wife

The one we prayed for

The one we were gifted with

Is already a month old.

It's like looking in the face of MY first born.

It feels strange.

To see his daddy all over again.
God is good like that.

And we are oh so thankful.

oh the differences that are between what we WANT and what we really NEED......

My Desire For 2011

GRATITUDE

listen and read along with words below.

Send some rain, would You send some rain?
'Cause the earth is dry and needs to drink again
And the sun is high and we are sinking in the shade
Would You send a cloud, thunder long and loud?
Let the sky grow black and send some mercy down
Surely You can see that we are thirsty and afraid
But maybe not, not today

Maybe You'll provide in other ways

And if that's the case . . .
(Chorus)
We'll give thanks to You
With gratitude
For lessons learned in how to thirst for You
How to bless the very sun that warms our face
If You never send us rain
Daily bread, give us daily bread
Bless our bodies, keep our children fed
Fill our cups, then fill them up again tonight
Wrap us up and warm us through
Tucked away beneath our sturdy roofs
Let us slumber safe from danger's view this time
Or maybe not, not today
Maybe You'll provide in other ways
And if that's the case . . .
(Chorus)
We'll give thanks to You
With gratitude
A lesson learned to hunger after You
That a starry sky offers a better view if no roof is overhead And if we never taste that bread
Oh, the differences that often are between
What we want and what we really need
So grant us peace, Jesus, grant us peace
Move our hearts to hear a single beat
Between alibis and enemies tonight
Or maybe not, not today
Peace might be another world away
And if that's the case . . .
(Chorus)
We'll give thanks to You
With gratitude
For lessons learned in how to trust in You
That we are blessed beyond what we could ever dream
In abundance or in need
And if You never grant us peace
But Jesus, would You please . . .

10:00 Alarm and Prayer

My youngest granddaughter, A, loves to play with my watch.

I take it off my arm and let her push all the buttons.
After doing so one day, she dropped it in her carseat....
...and I forgot about it.
I got it back about a week later, and somehow, she had set the alarm on it for 10:00 a.m.

So, every day at 10:00 a.m. when that alarm goes off, I pray for all my *littles.* I pray for God to bless them with good health. I ask Him to keep them safe from harm and to be a good friend to others. I thank Him for their little lives and pray that they grow to know Him in a very personal way and that as they grow they are *sold out to Jesus*.

That's a tall order.

He can handle it.

Set your watch for 10:00 a.m.

Your *littles* will be blessed.

(I actually pray for them at other times...this is just a bonus)

Valet Parking At It's Finest!

I figured it out. It's not the Christmas SHOPPING I don't like.

It's the

"finding a parking place, getting back in a cold car"

that takes the joy out of the shopping.

So, I decided to hire a VALET to park for me.

He drives me up to the door of the store,

Waits in the warm car....sometimes up to 30 minutes at each store,

And pulls right up to the door when he sees me walk out!

It's how I've done all my shopping this year (other than what I've done on-line).

It's fabulous.

He's Cheap....And PATIENT!

Thanks Hubs. You are the Best VALET Parker EVER!

Happy Birthday!

Do you know someone who EVERYBODY likes?

Someone who is kind to everyone.

Someone who is TRULY interested in other people.

Someone who cares about your feelings.

And loves without judgement.

I do.

And today is his birthday!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

Love you!!!

Old School Angels

We bought the house we live in about 23 years ago. There were a few things left in the garage by the previous owners. One of the things left here were these "old school" angels. They are obviously homemade....and I LOVE them! I don't remember if I have ever put them out at Christmas.....

But I am THIS year!

I remember one time my older sister, Vicki, saw these in my attic. She LOVED them. She didn't live to see me put them in my yard, but in honor of "Bic Bic", I am displaying these

OLD SCHOOL ANGELS!!

Sure do love you Bic Bic!

Today

Today I have plans to move mountains.

I will not get them all moved.

There are too many....BUT, I am going to TRY to:

  • decorate my house....and my tree.
  • shop....LOTS
  • cook for my son and his wife
  • wrap gifts
  • do laundry
  • clean
I would rather be spending time with this beauty:
and these brown-eyed girls:
