BOOKS

Have you read this?

I read it yesterday....

(Remember? The day when it was all about ME.)

It was really good.

All of her books are.
It was deep though....and heart wrenching at times.

(Don't read it K.)
A good Saturday read.

I want to read Beth Moore's new book next:

How about YOU???

What are you reading?

It's All About ME!!

Today is all about

ME!
I LOVE to do for other people.

It might be part of my love language.
I truly LOVE it.

BUT
It has been a tough winter.

We have worked....
A LOT.

Today I decided it is about me.

I am going to get a pedicure.

With a Diet Coke in my hand.

And I really want to sit in front of my gas logs and teach myself some new blog tricks.

I might not do ANYTHING else.
So, thank you Jesus for giving me this day.

I know it is TRULY about

YOU.

But today, I am *pretending*
that it's about

ME.

.....and I know YOU understand.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my mom's birthday.

She and my dad came for a visit on Sunday.
We went out to lunch and had a great Strawberry Buttercream cake.

Seriously. This cake is fabulous.

The buttercream is to die for.
They even tell you to sit it out a few hours before eating it.

To let the butter soften.

Oh yeh.

My mom loves strawberries...so she loved this cake.

Mom, I pray your day is wonderful.

Just like you.

I love you.

Oh, and she is in her seventies.
I hope I look that great in twenty years.

Don't you?

The Girls Came To Visit

My daughter, G, and her two girls came to visit for a few days while their hubby/dad was out-of-town.

We shopped and played and ate and had LOTS of fun.

They left this morning and I snapped this pic before they left.

Nonny misses you already.

Comment Moderation

So sad that I am having to moderate comments.

Unfortunately, some people find the need to criticize.
What's sad for them is that I have a

SiteMeter
And I know who they are.

Sad.

SOMEPLACE WONDERFUL

"When we fell in love,

It was just us.
Full of hopes and dreams

and a world of possibilities.
I didn't know exactly where

those dreams would lead.
But I had a feeling

As long as I was with YOU
I'd end up some place good.

Even though we seem very different
From those two young lovers

Who looked into each other's eyes

and said *I DO*

I want you today
Every bit as much

As I wanted you then.
I'm still excited

About the journey
I'm taking with you.

I STILL know
As long as I am with you

I'm SOMEPLACE WONDERFUL."

This was the sentiment in my card from hubs today.

I truly am
SOMEPLACE  WONDERFUL!

Dinner Out For Valentine's Day

A few years ago, *OUR STATE* magazine wrote an article on a little soda shop in a nearby town. On a typical day this soda shop (that use to be a drugstore) sells ice cream, banana splits, hamburgers and typical soda shop foods. But every year for Valentine's Day they take reservations and open the upstairs for a sweet meal. (Yummy steak and other choices)

Thus began a tradition.
Pictures to follow...

Must go powder my nose!

This Post Is For My Oldest Son, B

    ..........who is a grammar snob.

    Holidays Showing Possession

A number of American Holidays have possessive forms, and are peculiarly inconsistent. "Mother's Day" and "Father's Day" are easy enough, one parent at a time, and "Parents' Day" is nicely pluralized, as is "Presidents' Day" which celebrates the birthdays of both Washington and Lincoln. "All Souls' Day (Halloween)," of course, takes a plural possessive. "Veterans Day" is plural but not possessive, for historical reasons shrouded in mystery. Martin Luther King Jr. Day has no possessive. "New Year's Day," "St. Valentine's Day," St. Patrick's Day," and "April Fool's Day" all have their singular prossessive form, and so, while we're at it, does "Season's Greetings." Note that "Daylight Saving Time" is neither possessive nor plural.

Just thought you might like to know.

    Household Chores

    Little background story here:

One of my daughters-in-law told me a little story last night about her and my son when they were dating. Apparently he said something about his mom doing his laundry.

    "WHAT????"

She said, "Seriously, you are in your twenties and your mom still does your laundry?"

"Ummm, yeh. She loves it. Laundry is her favorite chore."
Daughter-in-law did not believe it until she got to know me.

    Yes, my name is Angela

    and

    I like doing laundry.

I use to think I would even love to do this:

So, that got me to thinking.

What is YOUR favorite household chore?

    What is your LEAST favorite?

(I'll go ahead and tell you, I got it from my mom. It's her favorite too. Yeh, we are weird. I read that it is one of the most dreaded household chores.)

    Super Bowl Sunday

    In case you don't know.

    Today is Super Bowl Sunday.
    It's called football.

Now that we have THAT cleared up.
    The two teams playing are:

    The Indianapolis Colts

    And

    The New Orleans Saints

When our boys lived at home, we had a Super Bowl party every year. I made fun food and we usually ordered pizza. The boys ate and we all enjoyed watching the game together.

Tonight will be a little different.
We will watch the game alone....

    hubs and I....

    And, we will eat this:

.....because we are trying to lose a few pounds.

    What about YOU?

What are you doing for Super Bowl Sunday?

Did you even KNOW it was today?
